Brian Ward is an award-winning architect who focuses on combining innovative, conceptual ideas, and pragmatic building practices. He is especially adept at leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams, bringing a level of quality to the design work and coordinating the best efforts of the group, including landscape, interiors and site planning. Ward believes in establishing project goals early and then staying focused on the overall concept throughout the design. His collaborative style is attuned to the clients’ needs, the site conditions, the realities of construction, and the necessary optimism required in creating community throughout the design process. With some 20+ years in the field, he draws on his own experiences to mentor up-and-coming colleagues and help them realize their potential.

Bio

Jennifer Harpe has more than 18 years of experience in architecture, interiors and graphic design. A dedicated, detail-oriented designer whose collaborative nature keeps her involved in projects from concept to construction, Harpe’s portfolio includes senior housing, multifamily housing, restaurant, retail, office and hospitality. She believes that the line is often blurred between interior design, graphics and branding as these elements are necessary to the successful outcome of a project. A well-designed interior conveys a brand message and blends seamlessly with the building exterior. Harpe’s focus on a comprehensive design process allows client engagement throughout the entire process and ultimately results in a clear solution that produces effective, efficient and well-designed deliverables.

Hillary DeGroff is a Studio Practice Leader at HKS. Specializing in Senior Living, she applies her knowledge of sustainable practices and thinking to all scales of work, from community master planning to interior repositioning. Witnessing multiple family members suffer from Alzheimer’s dementia drives her passion and focus on senior living design and improving the aging experience.
